1. Explore Parrot Rock
Parrot Rock is a 10×10 meter rock located just off Mirissa Beach. During low tide, you can walk to Parrot Rock without even getting your feet wet. However, be mindful of the tide, as high tide can quickly flood the path back to the beach. The water isn’t particularly deep or rough, and there’s a guiding line connecting Parrot Rock to the shore. But if you’re bringing items that you don’t want to get wet, plan your visit around the tides!
2. Visit Coconut Tree Hill
A short distance from Turtle Beach, you’ll find Coconut Tree Hill. This small rock formation, covered in red earth and surrounded by coconut trees, extends out over the ocean and makes for stunning photos. Don’t miss it!
3. Snorkeling at Turtle Beach
Mirissa is home to a thriving turtle population, just a few meters off its golden beaches. Snorkeling equipment can be rented easily around Turtle Beach, but we recommend visiting the guides at Turtle Point. Our guide accompanied us and knew exactly where to find turtles. We felt they were genuinely dedicated to protecting this beautiful area while making sure we had a memorable experience.
4. Explore Secret Beach
Located around 20 Minutes walking or around 5 Minutes in TukTuk is the secret Beach. A small enclosed part of the beach, where the tide and waves and not as wild as in the ocean itself. This place is less crowded than Mirissa Beach. Therefore this place is perfect for relaxing, dipping your feet in the water or people who travel with kids. Sunchairs, drinks and food are readily available.
