When planning a holiday, one of the most crucial questions is always: Which hotel is the best? Our October vacation to Corfu confronted us with this very question. After researching, we chose hotel “La Grotta Verde” in Agios Gordios, Corfu, located on the west side of the island, roughly 30 minutes by car from the airport.
This hotel stands on the slope of a mountain, directly connected to the Ionian Sea. We spent 7 nights in a superior double room with a balcony and sea view—a unique and stunning experience as the sun set every evening right in front of us.
La Grotta Verde provides a half-board service, featuring a breakfast buffet and dinner buffet, along with an all-inclusive package that includes lunch and select beverages.
A unique selling point is its “no kids policy,” allowing only guests above 16 years old. This policy created a calm, orderly, and relaxing atmosphere throughout our vacation. The hotel offers a diverse range of afternoon and evening entertainment, including various sports activities during the day, relaxation by two pools, at the spa, or on their private beach. Evenings were filled with live music, karaoke, or traditional Greek dancing shows.
In conclusion, our vacation was nearly perfect. Everything—from the food, service, and entertainment to the view of the Ionian Sea—was excellent. As a tip, consider visiting outside the main season (June – August) for a more comfortable climate and potential cost savings.
